PBSO Locates Helicopter Wreckage in Corbett Area

Update

The occupants on board the aircraft have been identified as:  Richard Preiser, DOB: 5/07/1950 and Thomas Stout, DOB:  2/15/1957 both from Delray Beach.

The wreckage was secured overnight by PBSO and FWC as the aircraft is in an area that is difficult to get to without specialized vehicles.

Today, PBC Fire Rescue Hazmat team, PBSO Detectives, Crime Scene Investigators and the Medical Examiners personnel will safely recover the deceased.  Once complete, the scene will be turned over to NTSB.

More information will be released when it becomes available.

PBSO Eagle (Helicopter) Pilot’s located what appears to be the wreckage of a helicopter that was last seen on the radar at 4:30 pm today in the Corbett area west of Seminole Pratt Whitney Road.  The wreckage was located at 9:00 pm.  Deputies from the Wildlands Unit confirmed both occupants on board are deceased.

Detectives are enroute to the scene.

The FAA and NTSB have been notified.
