Deputies Conduct Back to School Initiative 8/10/23 – 8/25/23

Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, deputies assigned to the City of Lake Worth Beach District, conducted a two-week back-to-school initiative beginning August 10, 2023 through August 25, 2023.

The purpose of this enforcement was to conduct high-visibility, zero-tolerance enforcement in all school zones.

The locations of the enforcement were Barton Elementary, North Grade Elementary, South Grade Elementary, Highland Elementary, Lake Worth Middle and Lake Worth High School.

The results of the enforcement is as follows:

  • School Zone Citations – 17
  • School Zone Warnings – 92
  • Pedestrian Warnings – 35
  • Arrests – 2 (Both for Driving without a License)

PBSO REMINDS motorists to:

  • Obey traffic laws when passing bus stops, driving through neighborhoods and school zones
  • Watch for pedestrians and bicycles
  • DO NOT let your children out of the car while you are stopped in traffic – it is unsafe and can lead to a tragedy
  • Be patient, be vigilant and allow extra time for your morning commute

Getting your kids to and from school safely is our priority and we ask that it be yours, too.
