Deputies Investigate a Shooting in Belle Glade
Deputies responded to a shooting in the 600 block of SW Avenue D, Belle Glade. Upon arrival deputies found an adult male with gunshot wound to the leg. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. No suspect information of known motive at this time. Detectives from the Violent Crimes Division are investigating further. We are proud to announced that we solved a 27-year-old murder case. Cold Case detectives emphasizes, "Not Giving Up!" Today, detectives obtained an indictment charging Clarence Butler, DOB: 3/22/1955, of Pahokee, with First Degree Murder of Simmie Harris. Simmie Harris was stabbed multiple times by Butler in his apartment between July 4, 1989 and July 5, 1989. Butler was located, arrested and booked into the Palm Beach County jail. He will attend first appearance Friday morning.
