PBSO Encounters Bear in Royal Palm Beach
PBSO’s role was to assist FWC Officers until they were able to locate a trapper, tranquilize the bear and relocate it.

Several individuals have been detained and there is NO immediate threat to the community.
PBSO received an ACTIVE SHOOTER call which was UNFOUNDED.
Suspect entered Home Depot, selected a Milwaukee Vacuum and walked out of the store without paying for it.
Suspect’s ID confirmed by Violent Crimes. Deputies responded to a shooting inside Publix in the 1100 block of Royal Palm Beach Blvd, RPB. 3 deceased including the shooter.
Deputies responded to a shooting, road rage incident, between a black and white vehicle which resulted in one adult male (in the white vehicle) shot. The male was transported to a local hospital where he is expected to survive. The road rage incident started in the westbound lanes of Southern Blvd and ended at the Burger King just before Crestwood Blvd, Royal Palm Beach. The individual (shooter) driving the black vehicle fled the scene.

Further investigation into the shooting that occurred Saturday, February 27, 2021, led to a suspect, Joseph Hamilton. Hamilton was arrested by PBC Violent Crimes Division detecitves Tuesday, March 2, 2021 for First Degree Murder. He was transported to the PBC Jail and booked. He will be attending first appearance this morning, March 3, 2021.
The victim, name withheld due to enaction of Marsy’s Law, succumbed to his injuries on March 2, 2021.
