Arrest made on Homicide

Christopher Soto has been identified as the suspect in the homicide of the Hispanic woman who was found floating in a canal, in Delray Beach. Soto was located, arrested and booked into PBC Jail for First Degree Murder, Destruction of Evidence and Providing a False Statement. We are keeping the victim’s family in our thoughts and prayers.

Zero Tolerance for Hate

We arrested suspect, Daniel Scanlan, who hit a man from behind, removed his black yarmulke (Orthodox Jewish skullcap), and called him a "Dirty Jew Kike". A woman attempted to intervene and the suspect snatched her cell phone, insulted her, and threw her to the ground causing a minor laceration to her right elbow. The suspect then fled to a White Kia vehicle and drove away, but he has been arrested. Welcome to PBC jail.    

Deputy Shoots Knife Wielding Man in Unincorporated Boynton Beach

6:24 am       Male (just learned it was the suspect who called) calls 911 and advises there is a suspicious person holding two knives in front of Firehouse Sub’s located in the 9900 block of S. Countywide Seat Belt & Child Safety Restraint Enforcement on Sunday, April 30, 2023

Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a countywide Seat Belt & Child Safety Restraint Enforcement on Sunday, April 30, 2023. The purpose of this operation is to conduct high-visibility, zero-tolerance enforcement of all Florida State Statutes regarding seat belt usage and child safety restraints. The locations of the enforcement will be in the unincorporated areas of Palm Beach County. The hours of operation will be from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Sexual Battery Arrest

Our detectives worked tirelessly to identify and apprehend the suspect responsible for a heinous crime against an innocent victim. We arrested Darrell Moreland Jr. for Sexual Battery with a deadly weapon, Kidnapping and Robbery with a deadly weapon. We thank the community for their support and remind everyone to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity.

Free Food Distribution Event

Restoration Bridge International in partnership with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office's District 6 Deputies, will be distributing food boxes this Thursday, April 27th at the Whispering Pines Clubhouse, 7009 Lawrence Road, Boynton Beach from 2-5 pm or until supplies last.
