Agents with the South Florida Criminal Apprehension Team (CAT) Arrest Suspects for Vehicle Burglaries

During the early morning hours of August 6, 2025, a series of vehicle burglaries occurred within the Bella Terra community in Royal Palm Beach. During the incidents, the suspects stole a 2024 Toyota Tundra from the victim’s residence. Agents with the South Florida Criminal Apprehension Team (CAT) responded to the scene and developed investigative leads.

Through investigative efforts, CAT agents located the stolen Tundra in the Royal Palm Beach area. The vehicle became occupied and traveled to Palm Beach Gardens with the intent to commit additional vehicle burglaries and thefts. CAT agents observed the stolen vehicle park at a residence in Palm Beach Gardens, where the suspects began canvassing the neighborhood for potential victims.

Before any further crimes could be committed, agents moved in to apprehend the suspects. A brief foot pursuit ensued, after which both suspects were taken into custody.

Dimitrius Burns was charged with grand theft auto, burglary to a conveyance, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, driving while license suspended, and resisting arrest without violence.

Jaden Atkins was charged with grand theft auto, burglary, and resisting arrest without violence.
