Since February is Anti-Bullying Awareness month, we were invited to make a presentation about bullying to a group of parents at Bridges at Highland Elementary School. As an incentive for participating during the presentation, each parent received a PBSO color-changing cup for parents to use as a “talking piece” with their children regarding bullying. The parents were appreciative of the community outreach effort and we couldn’t be happier to answer their questions.Heroes And Helpers Event at Target
We had an amazing Heroes And Helpers event at Target in Boynton where we took 10 awesome kids shopping. Each child was paired with a Deputy and given a $125 Gift card to shop with. The parents also received a $50 gift card for groceries.
Thanksgiving kindness
On 11/21/2018 deputies responded to Lake Worth Rd and S Military Trail (in the IHOP plaza ) in reference to a suspicious vehicle. Deputies made contact with the owner of the vehicle who advised she had broken down and was making arrangements to move the vehicle. The following day (Thanksgiving ) Deputies noticed the vehicle remained in the same position. PBSO is investigating a deputy-involved shooting that occurred at Forest Hill Blvd and Military Trail, on the southwest side. The deputy received minor injuries and is currently being treated. The subject was taken to a local hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound. This is the press conference from Sheriff Ric Bradshaw regarding this incident.
