U.S. DOT awards PBSO Grant

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office was awarded a grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Railroad Administration, to address railway trespassing in the City of Lake Worth Beach. The proposed project will address railway trespassing in the City of Lake Worth Beach, home to three miles of FEC railway and three miles of SFRTA/Tri-Rail Commuter railway, through enforcement activities and community awareness. PBSO West Detention Center deputies attended Career Day at Gove Elementary in Belle Glade. The Deputies engaged with students in various activities such as introducing themselves in Spanish and educated the students about the role of Sheriff's Office deputies with an interactive worksheet. PBSO brings home the win for this year’s Southeast Police Motorcycle Rodeo. The Southeast Police Motorcycle Rodeo is an annual police motorcycle skills competition that benefits children of fallen officers. More than 170 law enforcement motorcycle riders participated.
