PBSO Reads to Children to Commemorate Dr. Seuss

In celebration of Dr. Seuss’s birthday, District 14 was invited to read to the VPK class at Highland Elementary.

Deputy Richard Toranzo read to the children the book “Green Eggs and Ham.”

A total of 15 children attended the reading session.

After reading, each student was provided an After School Safety coloring book, a mood color changing pencil, and a Junior Deputy Badge.

Deputy Toranzo swore-in each child.

This small gesture goes a long way with the Spanish speaking community.

District 14 wants to ensure that the children of non-English speaking families see the “other “ side of law enforcement.
