Breakthrough in identifying Unidentified Remains found, January 1978

On December 2, 2025, the decedent was identified via forensic investigative genetic genealogy as Patricia Ann Ritchie, date of birth 12/3/53, of Harrisonburg, Virginia.  The identification was a direct result of the collaboration between Othram, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office Cold Case Unit, and the Palm Beach County Office of the Medical Examiner. It is believed Patricia Ann Ritchie was last seen in 1977 in Harrisonburg, Virginia. It is unknown at this time exactly when and with whom Ritchie travelled...

Suspects Wanted for Stealing Multiple Chainsaws from a local Business

On December 21, 2025, at approximately 7:52 a.m., two unidentified males entered Lowe’s located in the 4700 block of Okeechobee Boulevard in West Palm Beach. The suspects removed multiple chainsaws from the store and fled the area in an older-model Lexus SUV. Speed & Aggressive Driving Enforcement Operation – January 31, 2026

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office will be conducting a Speed & Aggressive Driving Enforcement Operation on Saturday, January 31, 2026. The purpose of this operation is to enforce Florida State Statutes for speeding and aggressive driving and to educate the public on the dangers of excessive speed and aggressive driving.                          Enforcement will take place from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

Suspect Wanted for Video Voyeurism at a Target department store

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect wanted for video voyeurism at a Target department store. On January 3, 2026, an unknown male suspect positioned his cellphone over a fitting room stall divider and recorded a juvenile inside the fitting room. After being noticed, the suspect immediately fled the store in an unknown direction. This incident occurred at the Target store located in the Village of Royal Palm Beach. The investigation remains active.

Deputy Involved Shooting – Unincorporated West Palm Beach

On Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m., deputies responded to a domestic disturbance in the 7400 block of 43rd Terrace North, in unincorporated Riviera Beach.  Upon arrival, deputies made contact with a female standing in the home's carport. While they were speaking with her to gather information, an adult male exited the residence, walked past the female, and retrieved a large machete from nearby bushes.
