Shortly after midnight, deputies responded to a shooting in the 400 block of Rardin Ave, Pahokee.  Upon arrival, deputies learned that an adult male was struck by gun fire while sitting in a vehicle, in the 100 block of Carver Place, just east of Rardin Ave. The injured male was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Detectives from the Violent Crimes Division arrived on scene to investigate further this incident as a homicide.

No suspect or motive is known at this time.
