Deputies Locate Suspect Wanted for Early Morning Home Invasion.

Two male suspects dressed in tactical/swat gear forced their way into a residence in the 17300 block of 72nd Rd North, Loxahatchee. Both males had gloves and masks and were armed with handguns. During the incident, the homeowner retuned home and confronted the suspects. The suspects took off and the homeowner followed them. The homeowner called 911 and advised dispatch where the suspects were headed. Road Patrol deputies and the helicopter were able to locate the suspect’s vehicle and began to follow it. Due to the suspects high rate of speed, Road patrol deputies backed away and the helicopter continued to follow them from there.
The suspects travelled to Boynton Beach Blvd area where the driver struck a marked PBSO car. Road patrol deputies located the suspect’s vehicle and began to follow it south bound on Jog Road. The suspect crashed his vehicle into a traffic sign at Woolbright Road and Jog Road where both suspects fled on foot. The driver was caught by Road Patrol deputies in the area. A search for the second suspect met with negative results.

The suspect is currently being medically cleared at a local hospital. He will be charged with Armed Home Invasion, Impersonating a Law Enforcement Officer, Felony Fleeing to Elude Law Enforcement, Felony Hit & Run with injuries and Resisting arrest w/o violence.

PBSO deputy struck by the suspects is currently being treated for minor injuries.

This was a targeted incident.
