A deputy confronted with a weapon has only a split second to decide whether it is real or a replica; a decision that can potentially result in tragic consequences. Sheriff Ric Bradshaw and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office want parents and guardians to understand the importance of monitoring your children’s use of replica weapons.

The Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office took a group of students from South Grade Elementary School to LEGOLAND Florida Resort for the day. This was the conclusion of a school program where the deputies helped out the students in their efforts to build Lego cars at school. It is hoped that when the children get older, there will be positive results from the involvement of law enforcement in their lives.

Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit Assisted the U.S. Coast Guard with capsized vessel.
One vessel capsized six miles off shore of Boca Raton Inlet. Several individuals were rescued from the water by PBSO Marine Unit deputies and Coast Guard Officials.
Marine Unit deputies were dispatched to assist the coast at 10:00 am, Wednesday, October 29, 2014.
U.S. Coast Guard and Border Patrol will continue to investigate.
