PBSO/Safety Patrol Picnic

Every year we throw a picnic/pool party for all the 5th Grade Safety Patrol kids in Lake Worth. About 150 kids enjoyed the pool, the slides and the interaction with Law Enforcement. "When we could build these positive relationships with the kids, they can look back and remember when they worked with the police and got to meet with the police to make good choices in life".  

Serve and Protect Reading Program

::Watch PBSO Operation "Serve and Protect Reading Program":: Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office Deputies celebrated the final day of the Serve and Protect reading program with students at North Grade Elementary School in Lake Worth, Fl. Over several weeks, the deputies mentored and read to the students at their school.

Operation: Plantation Community Fix Up

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Foundation partnered with the Plantation Community for neighborhood improvements and beautification. Due to residents getting involved in their community and in cooperation with PBSO, there was a dramatic decrease in the crime rate.

PBSO Supports Drowning Prevention Program

Students at Cypress Trails Elementary in Royal Palm Beach were visited by Josh the Otter, who made a big splash with the kids. Today is National Safety Water Day and PBSO was on-hand to educate the children about the dangers of drowning. PBSO wants everyone to have a safe water-fun summer!  

It Happens That Fast

We wish a speedy recovery to 27-year-old NYPD officer Lauren O'Rourke who was attacked by a hammer-wielding suspect. "According to officials the time between the onset of the attack on the officer and the shooting of the perpetrator was a matter of seconds."

PBSO Helps Belle Glade Homeless Man

Two PBSO Deputies helped out a homeless man with no shoes, by giving him a pair of their own boots. One deputy took a photo of the man posing with his new boots and the picture went viral on the Internet. The deputies explained that their jobs involve helping citizens any way they can and they truly care about the citizens of Belle Glade.
