Independence Day is a great time for families and friends to come together - watch fireworks, grill, and enjoy a good day at the beach or the pool. Yet, disasters tend to happen. Every year, an estimated 11,000 people are treated for injuries related to fireworks. While fireworks are legal to purchase in Florida, they are illegal to set off without a license. PBSO Explorers awarded 1st place

Our Explorers make us so proud, we have to share this with you! They participated in the Florida Sheriff’s Explorers Association state Competition hosted by the Osceola County Sheriff's Office. They brought home lots of awards, among them 1st place in Crime Scene Investigation.

Texting While Driving Law

This is Apache, the newest member of the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Mounted Unit. He's a 13 year old Quarter Horse that was purchased by the Sheriff's Foundation. PBSO DNA Lab: 1995 Cold Case Solved

In 1995, the 14-year-old victim was at her school bus stop when the suspect offered her a ride to school. Instead, he drove elsewhere and sexually assaulted her. Almost 24-years later, the suspect is in custody with the help of the US Marshals Task Force. The suspect will face a Palm Beach County Judge in the morning. We can only hope the victim is one step closer to recovery.
