One thing you can do is install a real-time security camera that alerts your smartphone, or computer when there are trespassers surrounding your property. This allows you to stop the crime or alert authorities right away.

You can also use package tracking technology. Online shoppers can get pretty close to knowing when their packages will arrive. Make sure someone is home to receive the package or opt for having the packaged signed on delivery or schedule a pick up instead. If not home, ask your usual delivery men to place packages in less visible places.
