SCAM ALERT

In the past week several Palm Beach County residents have received calls on their cell phones, from people claiming to be from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.  The callers are stating that the citizens owe money to PBSO, and are going to be arrested within the hour, if they do not comply and remit payment to prevent their arrest. 

Callers are being instructed to call telephone # 850-502-4644, obtain a money order and send funds.  The answering party claims to be “The District Attorney’s Office”.  This telephone number has been used in numerous variations of this scam and is listed in several other scam alert websites.

This particular scam is similar to those that have occurred in the past.
