District 12 – Pahokee

Dear Friends,

My name is Lieutenant Ryan Mugridge. I have the privilege of serving as the Commander of the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office – City of Pahokee.

I was born in Florida and have served our county with PBSO for seventeen years. My law enforcement career began in 2004 as a cadet in Belle Glade and I had the honor of returning to the glades in 2015 as a Sergeant for the City of Belle Glade.

Over the last 17 years, I have served in many roles including Road Patrol Deputy, Community Policing Deputy, Motor Deputy, Road Patrol Sergeant, Sergeant of the Motor Unit, Watch Commander, and now as the Executive Officer of District 5. I also assisted in the merger of PBSO and the Greenacres Police Department. Then, honored as 2020 District 3 Sergeant of the Year.

I attended Palm Beach Atlantic University where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership. I am thankful for my time at Palm Beach Atlantic where the focus was in servant leadership, a style of leadership that focuses on the well-being and growth of the people within the organization and also in the community in which they serve.

It is my goal to serve the residents of the Western Region, the City of Pahokee, and the dedicated deputies and office staff assigned to the region in this manner. The staff of District 12 is committed to providing competent and professional law enforcement service to the community. Our deputies are professional, proficient, and here to help. “Fighting crime” is merely one aspect of law enforcement’s function within Pahokee. The town requires a more traditional approach to build partnerships with the community and facilitate lasting relationships.

Community policing is a concept that recognizes public safety issues cannot be solved by law enforcement alone but requires interactive partnerships with relevant stakeholders including residents, business owners, visitors, media, non-profit organizations, and law enforcement agencies. As stakeholders, we believe we can partner with you to decrease the fear of crime, ensure the security of the community, and contribute to the prosperity of our community’s members. We invite you to join us in our efforts by reporting crime, taking advantage of our crime prevention programs, or discussing any concerns you feel would improve our community.

Thank you for visiting our website. I look forward to this endeavor and to building relationships with our community. Our Administrative Offices are located at 38840 SR 80, Belle Glade, Florida.

Respectfully,

Lieutenant Ryan Mugridge
