Colonel Mark Alexander leads the Department of Strategic Operations and has provided dedicated service to the Sheriff’s Office for over 34 years. Colonel Alexander started his law enforcement career as a Road Patrol Deputy and subsequently served as Community Policing Deputy, Internal Affairs Sergeant, Watch Commander Road Patrol Operations, Executive Officer in the Special Investigations Division, Commander of Internal Affairs and Bureau Director over Investigative Operations prior to his current assignment. In addition to his longstanding career with the Sheriff’s Office, Colonel Alexander also obtained his Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice. Colonel Alexander’s current assignment in the Department of Strategic Operations includes the Governmental Operations Bureau, Homeland Security Bureau, Investigative Operations Bureau, Major Crimes Bureau and Emergency Operations Bureau.
