Colonel Robert L. Allen, Strategic Operations, is a career Law Enforcement Officer with over 40 years of professional experience. He currently commands the Department of Strategic Operations which encompasses the Bureaus of Major Crimes, Homeland Security, Emergency Operations and Investigative Operations. He oversees over 800 employees, both sworn and civilian.

Colonel Allen’s career reflects a clear progression through the ranks since joining the Sheriff’s Office in 1983. He has served as the Chair of Law Enforcement for the Regional Domestic Security Task Force and is currently is a member of the Statewide Executive Board, responsible for the coordination of regional assets responding to critical incidents, both man-made and natural. Colonel Allen has traveled extensively, domestically and internationally, to meet and discuss security issues and trends with experts from around the world.

Colonel Allen is married with one son, Lt. Colonel Christopher Allen, currently serving on active duty with the United States Army and has two grandchildren.
