Open Enrollment for retirees with medical and dental insurance through PBSO usually occurs in October/November. The Benefits Division – Retirement Team will send you save the date information with a reminder to utilize Bentek for Open Enrollment on the specified dates. If you have no changes, you must still go into Bentek and click on that response. If you have changes, go into Bentek and make your changes. Bentek houses information on your medical, dental and or life insurance policies, as well as, your costs and beneficiaries that you can access any time during the year.

Open enrollment changes take effect on January 1st of the following year.

It may also be a good time to update beneficiary information for your life insurance policy. In
order to be in compliance with best practices, you should update your beneficiaries as soon as
possible following any change in circumstances, preferably within 30 days of the qualifying event.
