Girl Scouts Crime Prevention and Fire Safety Tips Teaching Day

Deputies and PBC Fire Rescue Personnel spent the day teaching Girl Scouts Crime Prevention and Fire Safety tips. This is done yearly before cookie sales begin. They were able to meet Piper, a member of PBSO K-9, sit in a patrol vehicle and on the Sheriff's Office ATV. Female Tosses Dog from a Bridge

Deputies responded to Phil Foster Park in reference to an animal cruelty complaint. Upon arrival deputies learned that a female just threw a dog off the Blue Heron Bridge approximately 40-50 feet off the ground below. Several witnesses stated that the dog was clearly in distress, pain, whining and struggling to move. Deputies responded to a shooting in the 100 block of State Road 715, Belle Glade. Upon arrival deputies located two males with gunshot wounds. They were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
