Animal Kindness Unit Dogs Visit The Sheriff

Greyhounds, Missile and Sonic, part of our Animal Kindness Unit, dropped by to say hello to Sheriff Bradshaw on their way their way to visit an adult facility.

Missile and Sonic, PBSO’s therapy canines, visit local adult facilities on a regular basis.  Many of the elderly had pets when they lived on their own and miss the companionship of a loving animal.  Visiting with the greyhounds puts a smile on their faces and gives them a chance to tell stories about their animals that are sorely missed.  Although it often brings a tear to their eyes, it is also such good therapy for them to be able to pet a dog and have the dog lie it’s snout on their lap.
