
Major Thomas Fresneda
Some of the core responsibilities of the Homeland Security Bureau include: violent felony fugitive investigation and apprehension, dignitary protection, decoy operations, covert criminal investigations, escaped prisoner investigations, career criminal investigations, threat assessments and threat mitigation, analytical support, video surveillance monitoring and technical surveillance support, deterring, detecting and preventing terrorist acts, as well as preparing for and responding to natural and man-made disasters.
Major Fresneda is a career law enforcement officer. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Administration. In 1998, he began his law enforcement career with the Ocean Ridge Police Department as a Public Safety Officer (Police Officer/Firefighter/EMT). He joined the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office in 1999. Major Fresneda has held various positions with PBSO to include Road Patrol Deputy Sheriff, Detective in the Robbery/Homicide Unit, Agent in the Tactical Unit, Task Force Officer with both the United States Marshals Service and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Road Patrol Sergeant, Tactical Unit Sergeant, Road Patrol Lieutenant/Watch Commander, South Florida Burglary Task Force Lieutenant, Tactical Unit Lieutenant and Captain of The Tactical Intelligence Division.
