Training Division

The PBSO Training Division has training facilities throughout Palm Beach County. Our main office is located on Cherry Road in West Palm Beach. In addition, the Training Division maintains the Driving Facility, Firearms Range, 2 Armories, and 11 Fitness Centers. The division is comprised of 49 personnel that utilize and oversee these facilities.  A breakdown of our personnel is as follows: 1 Captain, 3 Lieutenants, 8 Sergeants, 1 Office Support Supervisor, 21 Sworn Trainers, 3 Civilian Trainers, 3 Fitness Trainers, and 10 Support Staff.  The division also oversees the Field Training Office (FTO), which provides training for new recruits. In addition, the division also supports the Bicycle Unit which is run by a civilian manager who coordinates over 350 bicycle deputies, making it the second largest bicycle unit in the nation.

The PBSO Training Division has established a reputation of excellence in the law enforcement community.  We have hosted local agencies at our facilities for individualized training and international police forces as well. Public Shoot

This program is a joint effort between PBSO and Palm Beach County to provide a firearms facility for the public’s use. It is run out of our Firearms Facility at 20 mile bend, located at 21500 Southern Blvd. in western Palm Beach County. The facility is located approximately 10 miles west of State Road 7. From I-95, Florida’s Turnpike, or State Road 7 travel west on State Road 80, (Southern Blvd.) After passing the entrance to Lion Country Safari, the next flashing light is the intersection of County Road 880. Turn left onto C.R. 880. You will cross over a bridge, as soon as you cross the canal there will be a paved road which runs back east along the south side of the canal. Turn left down this road to the first driveway, 21500, and turn right into the Firearms Facility.
