Bark-a-thon 2020

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office's Bark-a-Thon pet adoption event originally scheduled for June 6 at the Palm Beach County Convention Center has been re-scheduled for September 12. Pet related vendors / rescues / shelters in the Palm Beach FL area - sign up today for early interest in BARK A THON 2020  - sponsored by the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

May is Mental Health Month

May is Mental Health Month! We know COVID-19 is taking a toll on the mental health of many. You're not alone. The County is providing Free Telemental Health Service to Palm Beach County residents. For emergencies call 9-1-1 or the Mental Health Services Helpline: 1-800-985-5990.

Summer Food Service Program

School is not out yet, but when it is the county will continue to provide meals for Palm Beach County children with the Summer Food Service Program. This program ensures that school-aged children, 18 years and under, continue to receive nutritious meals beyond the school year and during the summer months. The Pre-Summer Food Service Program operated by the Palm Beach County Youth Services Department and Library System is offering meals at distribution sites in West Palm Beach, Greenacres, Belle Glade, Pahokee, South Bay,...

Miss the Beach?

Great news! Effective today, the beaches are open, but with these conditions: Beaches will be open between sunrise and sunset. Group shall follow CDC guidelines by limiting gatherings to no more than 10 people per group. Social distance from other parties by six feet.

Salons and Barbers now open

As most already know, salons and barbershops in Palm Beach County are now able to open, but we still have been receiving a few questions about the guidelines. Cold Case Breakthrough – Remains of Wayne Calvin Griffith identified

There has been a Cold Case breakthrough on the disappearance of Wayne Calvin Griffith, who was reported missing by his family in Ashtabula, Ohio on October 1, 1993. On May 11th, PBSO Cold Case Detectives were notified by the University of North Texas Center for Human Identification that the remains found on Oct. 25th, 1993 belonged to Wayne Calvin Griffith based on a DNA match between the unidentified DNA sample and family members reference samples in the Combined DNA Index System...

K9 Beretta is playing cool during these stressful times. She is wearing a mask, washing her paws and practicing Social Distancing except with her handler. She wants to make sure everyone is staying calm and mindful of others.

Palm Beach County – Parks Begin Re-Opening

We received a few questions regarding the new recreational emergency order. Here are some clarifications: Palm Beach County's New Emergency Order (EO 2005-005) reopens county parks, public and private golf courses, pools, marinas, and boat ramps with limitations. Park visitors must practice social distancing (keep approximately 6 feet away from others). Face coverings are strongly encouraged and should be worn.
