PBSO Helps Mother and Newborn
On March 1st, a mother in need and her 5-month newborn came into one of our substations requesting assistance. They had just arrived from New Jersey where they couldn’t stay due to poor weather conditions that were affecting them. With nowhere to go and no family to call, we were able to assist the family with temporary shelter and financial assistance on behalf of Adopt-A-Family. Our deputy took them to the temporary shelter and provided food, water, and other essentials.

Today, we remember Sgt. James "Rocky" Hunt. Sergeant Hunt was killed while attempting to stop an ATM robbery. After shooting, the suspect tried to commit suicide but survived. He was found guilty of Sergeant Hunt's murder and sentenced to death. However, in June of 1998, the Florida Supreme Court commuted the death sentence to life in prison because the murder was not premeditated. Sergeant Hunt is survived by his wife and two sons.Criminal Justice Program

Sheriff Bradshaw honored
The United South County Democratic Club honored Sheriff Ric Bradshaw, with a crystal engraved award, for his service and dedication to Palm Beach County. They believe that his contribution, especially when it comes to keeping every citizen of our county safe, is immeasurable.Anti-Bullying Awareness
Since February is Anti-Bullying Awareness month, we were invited to make a presentation about bullying to a group of parents at Bridges at Highland Elementary School. As an incentive for participating during the presentation, each parent received a PBSO color-changing cup for parents to use as a “talking piece” with their children regarding bullying. The parents were appreciative of the community outreach effort and we couldn’t be happier to answer their questions.
