The Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office partnered with optometry physician, Dr. Larry Lampert, to train PBSO volunteers with skills to improve their vision. It is hoped that by using vision skills born on baseball fields, golf courses and tennis courts, volunteers will be safer, while on the job at PBSO.
On February 9, 2015, Commission on Accreditation for Corrections (CAC) announced the accreditations of the Palm Beach County’s Main Detention Center and West County Detention Center of the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit Assisted the U.S. Coast Guard with capsized vessel.
One vessel capsized six miles off shore of Boca Raton Inlet. Several individuals were rescued from the water by PBSO Marine Unit deputies and Coast Guard Officials.
Marine Unit deputies were dispatched to assist the coast at 10:00 am, Wednesday, October 29, 2014.
U.S. Coast Guard and Border Patrol will continue to investigate.
