Today, Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office remembers with pride their fallen hero, George C. Douglass.
PBSO Deputy Sheriff George C. Douglass was appointed as Deputy Sheriff only five weeks before his death. He was reluctant to take the position and did so only when requested by unanimous vote of the council. On August, 27, 1921, Deputy George C. Douglass was shot trying to arrest a theft suspect near South Bay.

Honoring A Memory of True Valor | Deputy Frederick Baker

On the important date of January 9, almost 100 years ago, Deputy Frederick Baker led a group of men on one of the bravest missions in Palm Beach Sheriff office history. He paid dearly with his life but his act of bravery, will never be forgotten. Honoring the Memory of Fallen PBSO Deputies 16 Year Anniversary

While performing his official duties he sustained a physical injury. On December 6, 2000 Deputy Oetinger (Pictured Left) passed away due to medical complications related to this previous injury.
On June 7, 1991, while on duty serving the citizens of Palm Beach County, Deputy Hobbs (Pictured Right) was sprayed with a lethal level of a herbicide. After battling for over 9 years with an illness contracted from the herbicide, Deputy Garry Hobbs passed away December 9, 2000

Deputy Dennis Wallace Killed While On Duty

Our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Deputy Sheriff Dennis Wallace from the Stanislaus Sheriff’s Office, a 20 year veteran who died Nov 13th.
While investigating a suspicious vehicle dispatchers alerted him the vehicle was stolen, he then requested backup.
When the second Deputy arrived on the scene he discovered Deputy Wallace.
He was shot twice in the head from point blank range.

The Passing of PBSO K-9 “Kenzo”

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of PBSO K-9 “Kenzo”. He served heroically from 2006-2013 and was responsible for countless felony apprehensions, one of which K-9 Kenzo sustained a gunshot wound while apprehending a murder suspect. On June 4, 2012, K9 Kenzo located the suspect hiding and ready to ambush deputies. K9 Kenzo drew the suspect’s attention away from approaching deputies resulting in him being shot twice by the suspect before deputies could return fire.

PBSO Honor Guard Attend Funerals in Baton Rouge

PBSO Honor Guard members attended the fallen law enforcement officers’ funerals in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Thousands of law enforcement officers from across the country and Canada gathered in Baton Rouge to honor the fallen heroes who paid the ultimate sacrifice. There was a show of overwhelming support for these brave men that came from the community in which they served. Although the mood was somber, many residents gave their condolences and thanked those in uniform with handshakes, prayers and hugs.
