While performing his official duties he sustained a physical injury. On December 6, 2000 Deputy Oetinger (Pictured Left) passed away due to medical complications related to this previous injury. On June 7, 1991, while on duty serving the citizens of Palm Beach County, Deputy Hobbs (Pictured Right) was sprayed with a lethal level of a herbicide.
