PBSO is Investigating a Deputy Involved Shooting In Wellington

On Wednesday, June 22, 2016, just before 8:00 am, deputies from the Wellington District were requested to stand by while a resident entered her residence to collect her personal belongings. Deputies knocked on the door and received no answer.  The front door was locked and it appeared that no one was inside the residence. Fatal Crash Report: Fatality Date: 06/11/16 Fatality Time: 1:59 a.m. Fatality #56 Location: 2722 Westgate Avenue, WPB, FL Narrative: The driver of V-1 was unlawfully traveling westbound on Westgate Avenue within the eastbound inside lane. PBSO Helps With Smoke Detectors

All in the name of safety. The Palm Beach Sheriff's Office teamed up with The American Red Cross, The United Way, and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue to install free smoke detectors for residents in Sand and Sea Village in Boynton Beach, Florida.  

PBSO Increases Moffett Murder Reward to $25,000

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office announced an increase in the reward, that people are eligible for, for information in the Cynthia Moffett case. Moffett was murdered on March 23, 2006 at the Forest Oaks Golf Club in Wellington, Florida. The amount has increased to $25,000.

Shooting in Belle Glade

Just before 9:00 pm, deputies responded to a report of shooting in the 800 block of SW Ave D, Belle Glade. When deputies arrived they located a male shot in the lower torso. The male was transported to a local hospital for treatment. No suspect information or motive known at this time. No witnesses. Scam Alert

On January 22nd, a victim reported receiving a call from a suspect whom identified himself as Lt. Cross, with the Palm Beach County Sheriff Office. The suspect told the victim a warrant was issued for his arrest for failure to attend jury duty, but the matter could be resolved if a fine of $5,555.00 was paid. The suspect instructed the victim to purchase prepaid NetSpend Reloadit with a $500 value each and call back with the authorization number. Once the authorization is...
