Shortly after 5:00 pm, deputies responded to a shooting in the parking lot of Family Dollar, 4900 block of Southern Blvd, West Palm Beach. Upon arrival deputies located a male deceased from a gunshot wound(s). The other individual involved has been detained.

Detectives from the Violent Crimes Division are currently on scene investigating this shooting as a homicide. The motive is not yet known.

There is no threat to the public.
