A Message from Captain Coleman . . .
Greetings,
Welcome to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office District 9 website. My name is Captain Eric Coleman and I am the Commander of District 9-Village of Royal Palm Beach. I was honored to be selected as the District Commander for a community that I have called home since 1989. Since my law enforcement career began in 1985 I have had the pleasure of serving in a variety of assignments throughout the county at every rank to include: Patrol, Crime Property, Homicide, Crimes against Children/Sex Crimes and Internal Affairs.
In October of 2006, District 9 was created when the Village of Royal Palm Beach contracted with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office for law enforcement services. Every former member of the Royal Palm Beach Police Department was hired by Sheriff Bradshaw when the agencies merged.
At District 9 we are committed to providing timely, professional law enforcement services to citizens, business owners and visitors to the Village of Royal Palm Beach. District 9 has implemented the philosophies and practices of community policing and is fully committed to problem solving at all levels through traditional and non-traditional strategies. We work in partnership with the community and our government stakeholders to address crime and quality of life issues in the Village.
Those of us in public safety realize that each day brings new challenges. However, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office is committed to working with our elected officials, community leaders, village employees and the citizens of this great community to ensure that Royal Palm Beach remains a safe environment to live, work, raise our families and a community that we are all proud to call home.
