Greetings,

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the new District 6 web site.  My name is Martin Bechtel and I am the Commander of this new District which serves the communities from Lantana Road to the L-30 canal, just south of Flavor Pict Road. I have been a resident of Palm beach County since the 1960's and a member of the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office since 1986.

The opening of District 6 comes as a fulfillment of the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office promise to better serve the public by placing the District office more centrally in the area of the Community we serve. District 6 is located at 7894 South Jog Road, Lake Worth, directly in front of Park Vista High School. District 6 patrols nearly 60 square miles and serves a population of approximately 120,000 residents with a compliment of 75 sworn Law Enforcement officers.  In addition to the full time employees of the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, there are approximately 1500 committed volunteers of the "Citizens on Patrol".  These "COP's" volunteer their time and efforts patrolling the communities and shopping centers within the community; acting as the eyes and ears of our Law Enforcement Staff. The Law Enforcement staff is supported by a dedicated office staff of 14 civilian personnel.

It is our goal, with the assistance of the Community, to provide the highest level of Law Enforcement services to those who reside and visit in the area.
