Around 6:18 am, Jupiter Police Department contacted PBSO advising that a woman had been shot, in an apartment, in the 200 block of Mallard Cove Road, unincorporated Jupiter.  Upon arrival deputies learned a male was secured inside the residence, in question, with the victim. Contact was made with the male at which time he agreed to surrender. As deputies entered the residence to render safe an injured female believed to be suffering from a gunshot wound was located. Fire Rescue personnel arrived, immediately rendered aid and transported the female to a local hospital for treatment.

Detectives from the Violent Crimes Division have arrived and are investigating further. All parties involved have been accounted for and there is NO threat to the public.  The motive is unknown at this time.

The media/public will see the critical command center arrive which is essentially an office on wheels (due to the inclement heat).

More information will be released when it becomes available.
