PBSO/FDLE/PBC State Attorney’s Office Investigate Deputy Involved Shooting in Riviera Beach

Time:           12:13 pm

Location:     1300 block of 27th Street, Riviera Beach

Tactical agents assigned to the Violent Crimes Division as part of the US Marshals South Florida Task Force received information that a fugitive they were looking for was residing at a residence in the 1300 block of 27th Street, Riviera Beach.

Upon arrival to the residence and preparation of affecting the arrest on the suspect in question, the suspect and another unknown male, both armed with a weapon, fled out the back door of the residence.  PBSO Tactical Agent hears his partner yell “gun, gun, gun” and in fear of his life and the life of his partner discharged his weapon one time striking the suspect in the torso.  Tactical agents immediately rendered aid.  The suspect was transported to a local hospital for treatment.  He is currently in stable condition.

All responding personnel attempted to locate the 2nd armed male which met with negative results.

PBSO Tactical Agent involved in the shooting is currently on administrative leave with pay which is standard department protocol.

FDLE, PBC State Attorney’s Office arrived on scene to investigate along with PBSO Violent Crimes Division.

The suspect, Lorenzo Fernelle Williams, DOB: 12/14/85, of Riviera Beach, is facing the following charges:

Warrant:  Burglary with Assault/Battery, Felony in Possession of a Firearm/Ammunition, Grand Theft and Criminal Mischief
New charges:  Aggravated Assault with a Firearm
