Palm Springs Police Department is Seeking the Public’s Assistance with Identifying a Suspect Wanted in a Kidnapping/Sexual Battery.

On March 07, 2014, Palm Springs Police initiated an investigation regarding an attempted Kidnapping/Sexual Battery. The twenty-three year old female victim was approached at the 3500 Block of Forest Hill Boulevard, Palm Springs. The victim was at the bus stop attempting to call a family member because she was confused by the bus routes.

An unknown Hispanic male walked up to her at the bus stop and asked if she needed a ride. The male is described in his late twenties to early thirties, approximately 6’02” tall, wearing khaki long pants and a neon yellow V neck landscape shirt, and brown work boots. The victim declined the offer for a ride. He asked if she spoke Spanish and she said no. He offered a ride again. After her second declination, he grabbed the victim by the neck and forced her to the ground. The male immediately put his hand down her shirt. The victim described being pulled eastbound on the sidewalk.

A witness, driving by, stopped to assist the victim. The witness exited his vehicle and began fighting the male. The witness chased the suspect to a vehicle which was parked in an exit lane to a residential complex. The suspect’s vehicle is described as a large white sports utility vehicle, possibly a Ford Explorer or Expedition with beige leather interior. The suspect fled west bound on Forest Hill Boulevard.
