CRIME PREVENTION PROGRAMS
Crime Stoppers is a not-for-profit citizen's organization that provides monetary rewards to people who provide crime-related information while providing the individuals complete anonymity.
The bicycle registration program provides a means of identifying bicycles so that if lost or stolen, they can more easily be returned.
The Citizen Observer Patrol is a volunteer effort to patrol the neighborhood and alert the Sheriff's Office when something is amiss. There are currently over 4,200 volunteers in this six-year old program.
Operation CAT (Combat Auto Theft) is a voluntary program that identifies cars to be stopped between 1:00 am and 5:00 am. Owners who are unlikely to be driving at that time may register their car so that if it is seen on the road during those hours, the driver's right to be in possession of the vehicle is challenged.
