We are proud to announce that the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office (PBSO) is actively seeking Consultant & Project Management Services to assist in the planning, acquisition and implementation of integrated Law Enforcement and Corrections Information Technologies (inclusive of a Mobile Data) System.

The purpose of the PBSO's Request For Proposals (RFP) is to secure detailed proposals from qualified, experienced individuals or firms engaged in Public Safety Communications, Information Technology and System Consulting.  The eventual Consultant & Project Management Services will assist the PBSO with its plan to develop an information and technology solution to its (PBSO's) operational needs utilizing a fully integrated, inter-operational, open, WEB-enabled suite of justice community applications.  The PBSO expects the Proposer (Consultant & Project Management Services) to participate in two phases of this mobile data solution project; one phase of assessment and selection; the other of implementation and management.  The criteria for both phases is as follows:

Phase 1: Assessment and Selection 

  • Assess current technology and systems to create a baseline for the remainder of the project
  • Critique specific systems identified by PBSO
  • Conduct interviews with selected departments to ascertain overall business and information technology needs
  • Develop an implementation plan for the PBSO's initiative
  • Help identify and develop alternative funding  sources (e.g. grants, etc)
  • Develop a comprehensive architecture flow that addresses system integration
  • Develop an RFP that will be used to solicit vendors to bring proven, cohesive systems to the PBSO, inclusive of a detailed and comprehensive Scope of Work for the Contractor(s)
  • Work with the team, select a successful vendor
  • Assist and aid in contract development and negotiations

Phase 2: Implementation and  Management

  • Assist PBSO as required in the development and implementation of the selected systems
  • Create the project schedule and task list
  • Develop a testing and acceptance plan
