Belle Glade, Florida
Who can attend?
Palm Beach County residents.
What age group?
Boys, ages 13-16.
What if my son has been arrested?
No felony conviction (non-adjudicated).
Is there a fee?
No.

Who governs the Academy?
The program is sponsored by the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.
Who oversees the Academy's operations?
State of Florida, through Dept. of
Juvenile Justice, Dept. of Children and Family Services.
Who is in charge?
The administration of the Academy will consist of 3 Superintendents; 4 Assistant Superintendents, 4 Senior and 16 Academy Instructors, 3
Case Managers and 1 Administrative Quartermaster.
Where will the children reside?
On-campus barracks quarters.
How long is the program?
6-months residential, and up to 3 months follow-up after care.
Are meals provided?
Yes, 3 meals a day.
Are medical services provided?
Yes, on an emergency basis only.
Is clothing provided?
All clothing necessary during the residence will be provided by the Academy.
Can relatives attend together?
No.
Does the Eagle Academy provide counseling, substance abuse, and life skills
training?
Yes.
What is the capacity of the beds?
100.
Is education provided?
Yes. Education provided through P. B. County Schools/West Tech.
Is transportation provided?
All transportation for activities and schooling will be provided by the Academy.
Is visitation allowed, and when?
Yes. Weekly visits are required by parent/guardian.
Are there any recreational or sports programs?
Yes.
Are there any expenses needed to be paid by parent?
Yes, personal items are required and a recent complete physical examination within the last 6 months.
Do you help parents to control children?
Yes.
Is the program voluntary?
Yes.
Can you refer children to the program?
Yes.
Is the Academy safe and secure?
Yes, the Academy is staffed by Sheriff Deputies and Professional staff.
