Meet Public Information Officer Teri Barbera

Teri Barbera serves as the Director of the Bureau of Public Affairs and is the appointed Public Information Officer for the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. With 35 years under her belt at the Sheriff’s Office, Teri has experienced various facets of the agency, from Booking and Inmate Records to Media Relations, now termed as Public Affairs.

In 2008, Sheriff Ric Bradshaw chose Teri to lead the Media Relations Office. Her current role as the Bureau Director encompasses a wide array of responsibilities, including Media Relations, Social Media, and the Agency Website, among others. She also oversees the Video and Graphics Units, Agency Photographers, Therapy Canine Unit, Volunteer Unit, and much more, culminating in the management of various community outreach and support services.

As the President of CO-OP, Teri focuses on fostering communication and cultivating professional ties between governmental entities and the media. The group’s diverse membership comprises Public Information Officers from multiple sectors, including local to federal law enforcement, health organizations, emergency services, utilities, and media outlets.

A graduate with a Bachelor of Public Administration, Magna Cum Laude, from Barry University, Teri has a personal side too. She is happily married to Nick and is a proud mother to two daughters, Britany, aged 34, and Brooke, 28 years old.
