My wife and I are very sorry for your losses. It always saddens me when we lose such fine young men. Sometimes it does not seem right. But I have lived my life in the belief that the Lord has a plan and knows what we do not in fullfiling it. I spent 24 yers in the US Army from View Nam to Desert Storm, I was there and seen a lot of young people die. Then the Iraq war, then the loss of so many law enforcement officers lately. Words cannot express enough the pain we are all feeling due to this great loss. I first met Donta when I was 15 yrs old and throughout the course of his career he has always remained down to earth and one of those people you can count on to make your day a little brighter. I first met Jonathan through his Mom and then when he became a Deputy. I had the opportunity to have a conversation with him and he was truly someone who loved God and I felt that in the words he spoke. My heart goes out to the families of our fallen brothers. I knew both and both of you were great men. Donte was always willing to go that extra mile to help another. Wallace was an eager, happy young man who loved his job. I was in Pahokee 2 weeks ago and saw him off duty helping his family sell BBQ food. He shared it with us and it was the best BBQ we had ever had. He was an awesome man with a big heart.
