Department Director Andrea M. Lueghausen is a civilian law enforcement professional with approximately 44 years of experience.  She is responsible for overseeing the Department of Operational Support which is comprised of the Communications Division, Radio Services Division, Records Production Division, Central Records Division, Alternate Response Unit, and Operational Technology Unit.  A total of 327 personnel, both civilian and sworn law enforcement, are assigned to various specialty areas within the Department.  Her responsibilities cover 24/7 operations of E911 and radio dispatch, along with crime reporting, maintaining radio technology and infrastructure, and the lawful dissemination, retention, and destruction of agency records.

Director Lueghausen began her career in 1978 at the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office as a 911 Communications Officer and was promoted as the first civilian to hold the position of Communications Manager.  She furthered her career in Law Enforcement at a large municipal police department and gained a degree in Legal Studies.  Director Lueghausen returned to PBSO in 2005 as a Division Manager and is currently serving as Department Director.

Director Lueghausen is married and has one son and one grandson.
