Student Makes Threats to Shoot at William T. Dwyer High School

Crime Stoppers received a tip from a concerned citizen regarding a student posting videos of himself with a gun, pictures of himself with a gun in a school parking lot and threats to commit a shooting at William T. Dwyer High School, on social media. Further investigation identified the student. A search warrant was executed at the students home which led to the firearm in question. An interview was conducted with the student who confessed to making the threats and he advised detectives he was only kidding when he made the threats. He also confessed that the recovered firearm was the firearm depicted in the photos and videos which is stolen.

The student, 17 years of age, was arrested and transported to the JAC Center.

He was currently booked on the following charges:

· Possession of a weapon on school property
· Weapon offense – unlawful possession of a firearm
· Unlawful use of a two way communication device
· False report concerning planting a bomb, an explosive, or weapon of mass destruction, or concerning the use of firearms in a violent manner
