Update

Further investigation led to a suspect in this case.  The suspect, a juvenile at the time of the incident, born in January 2005 was arrested on January 31, 2023 for 2^nd Degree Murder, Discharging a firearm from a vehicle and Delinquent in possession of a firearm, was located, arrested and booked in the JAC Center.  One adjudicated an adult the suspect will be processed at the PBC Jail on the same charges.  The victim’s name has been withheld due to the invocation of Marsy’s Law.

After further investigation detectives learned that there was a rolling gun battle between vehicles resulting in an innocent victim being struck by gunfire. The victim, an adult male, was pronounced dead on scene.

The investigation is still active and ongoing.  More information will be released when it becomes available.

Just before 6:00 pm, deputies responded to a shooting in the 1200 block of Mentone Road, unincorporated Boynton Beach.  What we know at this time is one male was struck by gunfire.  The scene is still active and ongoing.

Detectives from the Violent Crimes Division are in route to the scene to investigate further.
