John Eugene Chapman of Miami, as the suspect wanted for First Degree Murder

Detectives identified John Eugene Chapman of Miami, as the suspect wanted for First Degree Murder of Vanessa Carmen Williams Bristol.

Here is how the investigation happened:

On April 19, 2015:
A resident noticed an unidentified body of a female deceased adjacent to the roadway. Evidence at the scene suggests foul play. Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators arrived on scene to investigate further.

On April 20, 2015:

The victim is an unidentified white or Hispanic female, possibly in her 20’s. An autopsy was performed.

On April 22, 2015:

The victim has been identified as Vanessa Carmen Williams Bristol, DOB: 3/22/87 from Margate. We do not believe the homicide occurred where she was found.

On April 30, 2015

** SUSPECT ARRESTED **

After further investigation detectives identified John Eugene Chapman, DOB: 9/30/89, of Miami, as the suspect wanted for First Degree Murder of Vanessa Carmen Williams Bristol.

He and the victim had a child in common. She was stabbed to death. Evidence at the crime scene linked the suspect to the crime. In addition, he confessed to stabbing her to death.

Chapman was arrested today and is currently housed in Broward County Jail on unrelated charges
