Dear Palm Beach County Senior Citizens, If your phone rings and someone tells you: "Your grandchild is in trouble and needs money!" It's a SCAM. This happens more often than you think. Yesterday, we arrested: Jason Moreland on a warrant for Grand Theft. Last year in June, the suspect contacted the victim and claimed one of his grandchildren was in trouble and needed money. On January 22nd, a victim reported receiving a call from a suspect whom identified himself as Lt. Cross, with the Palm Beach County Sheriff Office. The suspect told the victim a warrant was issued for his arrest for failure to attend jury duty, but the matter could be resolved if a fine of $5,555.00 was paid.
