Vehicle 1 was traveling westbound in the eastbound inside lane of State Road 80 in the 24000 block. Vehicle 2 was traveling eastbound in the eastbound inside lane of State Road 80 in the 24000 block. D-1 was operating V-1 eastbound on Bacom Point Road approaching the intersection of Rardin Avenue. For unknown reasons V-1 departed the roadway to the right and mounted the sidewalk. As V-1 mounted the sidewalk it impacted P-1, who was walking eastbound, from the rear. P-1 wrapped the front of V-1 as V-1 continued to travel southeast. Detectives from the Violent Crimes Division are on scene investigating further.
The suspect (name to be released soon) was arrested.
Vehicle 1 crashed into the front passenger corner of Vehicle 2.
Driver 1 has died from injuries he sustained in the crash.
Saul Romero Zelaya was intoxicated at the time of the collision and an arrest warrant for DUI Manslaughter has been issued.
Upon arrival, deputies located an adult male inside the vehicle suffering from gunshot wound(s). Palm Beach County Fire Rescue arrived and pronounced the male deceased.
We’re looking for the vehicle that struck a pedestrian and fled the scene at Dixie Hwy and 14th Ave S in Lake Worth on Sept 18th.
The Labor Day weekend is statistically the second deadliest weekend on the road.
