To Serve and Protect Literacy

Today, PBSO held a party for the conclusion of the “To Serve and Protect Literacy” program at North Grade Elementary School. For the last two years, the “To Serve and Protect Literacy” program has worked with the North Grade Elementary School, pairing students with officers as reading buddies.

Over a six week period, the officers come in and read with their buddies–making time in their demanding schedules to help shape these young learners educational experiences. There will be 12 second grade students (3 of which are special needs students) who have been in the program for 5 weeks. There will be a pizza party where each child will be receiving a personalized book as a gift which will be read as their final book.
