The Passing of PBSO K-9 “Kenzo”

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of PBSO K-9 “Kenzo”. He served heroically from 2006-2013 and was responsible for countless felony apprehensions, one of which K-9 Kenzo sustained a gunshot wound while apprehending a murder suspect. On June 4, 2012, K9 Kenzo located the suspect hiding and ready to ambush deputies. K9 Kenzo drew the suspect’s attention away from approaching deputies resulting in him being shot twice by the suspect before deputies could return fire.

As an overwhelming example of his fortitude, he returned to duty after this injury to complete his career. He was a truly special animal, serving his community with all of his heart. He will be missed.
